I was checking out somebody else’s wordpress blog, and stopped by mine while I was at it…yikes! It has been over a year since I last added a post. There really has been stuff going on in my life – alot of stuff, actually, which is why I haven’t had time to write on this blog.
I looked back at my first blog that I wrote on here and realized that I had written about just having finished my exams so that I could start nursing school…well now I am 3/4 of the way through school, and will graduate the middle of April, 2009. I am so excited! It is amazing how much I have learned, and what a wonderful feeling it is to know how to provide safe care for patients, and to understand “nursese” – the secret language nurses speak that enables them to keep things secret from their patients. For instance, if a nurse does not want the patient to know that she is sweating, she can simply state that the patient is “diaphoritic”, and thus communicate the neccessary information to other healthcare professionals, without having to burden the patient with the knowledge. Of course I am joking a little, but really there are so many big words that I have to use now!
I am just so thrilled how God has “made my path straight” and given me the opportunity to pursue this dream…now I pray that He will continue to guide me in making the right choices as far as where to work after I graduate…the choices are overwhelming.
